Milwaukee’s founding luminaries

Here’s a novel frontier attraction offered by one of Milwaukee’s founding luminaries. In 1842 Solomon and Josette Juneau and their many children moved from their log. Cabin to a spacious clapboard house on the corner of Water and Michigan Streets. As our first postmaster, Juneau erected two tall posts in his front yard and chased to lively performing bears to them, offering diversion and delight to guests and citizens alike.
